We’re really happy about this one! While in 2021 Sunburn was a very deep (almost red) rosé, the 2022 vintage is a light red and it may well be one of the best wines we've released. Last year we were offered a small parcel of Cabernet Franc from Maraekakaho, slightly inland from Bridge Pa and the Gimblett Gravels. Rather than a rosé, 2022 Sunburn is a light, bright, juicy carbonic red that weighs in at just 10.50% ABV (without feeling light or thin). It's packed with red currant and raspberry fruit, those lovely leafy / floral Cabernet Franc aromatics and a hint of cedar from the whole-bunch fermentation. 800 bottles made.
